Mark Richards graduated from Hull University in 1984 with an honours degree in Biochemistry (1st class) and has over 20 years experience within the patent profession both in private practice and in industry as a technical searcher specialising in patents and registered designs. He has extensive specialist expertise and understanding of patent classification, patent documentation, information sources and analysis which is critical to any dedicated search and investigation process.

He has broad experience of search work in a range of technical fields, but most especially in the fields of construction chemicals, metallurgy, pharmaceuticals, and mechanical engineering.

Mark launched Abacus Patent Solutions in October 2006.
